How the Playground works

Create custom question sets tailored to your audience, save them to your library, and use them in any Neeg Host session.

What is the Playground?

The Playground is where you build custom question sets before your event. Instead of using Neegma's default question pool, you can create your own content tailored to your audience — company trivia, themed party questions, icebreakers for a specific group, or training material for a workshop.

Once created, your custom games are saved to your library permanently. You can reuse them in any future session.

What game types support custom questions

The Playground supports four game types:

  • Trivia — multiple choice, single choice, or free text questions (coming soon)
  • Unscramble — custom words to unscramble, with hints
  • Missing Letter — fill-in-the-blank words, with hints
  • Odd One Out — groups of four items where one doesn't belong

How to create a custom game set

  1. Go to your dashboard and click Playground in the sidebar
  2. Click Create Custom Game
  3. Choose a game type
  4. Give your game set a name and optional description
  5. Add your questions one by one using the form, or import them in bulk using a CSV file
  6. Save — your game is now in your library

The form adapts based on the game type you choose. For Trivia, you set the question, choose whether it's single choice, multiple choice, or free text, and add the answer. For Unscramble, you provide the scrambled word and the correct answer.

Adding questions via CSV

Each game type has a downloadable CSV template. Fill it out in a spreadsheet tool and upload it to import questions in bulk. The importer validates each row and flags any errors before saving.

Using your custom game in a session

When you start a Neeg Host session and pick a supported game type (Trivia, Unscramble, Missing Letter, Odd One Out), you'll be given a choice: use Neegma's curated question pool, or pick one of your custom game sets. Select your custom set and the session will use your questions.

Each custom game can hold up to 200 questions. A minimum of 10 questions is required to run a game in a session.

Can I edit a custom game after creating it?

Yes. Go to the Playground, find the game set, and click Edit. You can change the title, description, add or remove questions, and reorder them. Changes apply to future sessions — they do not affect sessions already in progress.
